WireGuard

The official WireGuard app works on Android, iPhone and iPad, Windows, macOS and Linux. It connects with a config file: install the app from the WireGuard website or your app store.

Connect

1. Sign in to your Tayra account, open Devices and choose Connect a device.
2. Choose Other device: WireGuard or AmneziaWG, then The official WireGuard app.
3. Choose the Entry country — the device connects to a server in this country — or leave Chosen by the service.
4. Tap Create the config.
5. On a phone, scan the QR code in the WireGuard app. On a computer, download the .conf file and import it in the WireGuard app (add a tunnel from a file).
6. Turn the tunnel on.

The config has the private key of the device and is shown only once: we do not keep the private key. Do not share the file.

Changing the place

The exit place of the device is changed in your account, in Places, without a new config: the device keeps its config, and the server switches the exit within seconds. If the exit is in another country than the entry, traffic goes through the entry country first; your account suggests getting a config for the exit country — it is faster.

Good to know

• IPv6 is not carried through the tunnel, and it does not go outside the VPN either: the config sends all IPv6 into the tunnel.
• DNS of the device is the address of the server in your tunnel network.
• New key and config in Devices gives a new file; the old config stops working at once.
• If the entry server is not available, the device has no VPN until the server is back or you get a new config: the service then chooses another entry.
